Description: |
Woody liana; young stems reddish, pubescent with reddish brown, spreading hairs. Leaf pairs widely dispersed along twining branches; petiole 3–7 mm, densely pubescent; Leaves leathery, elliptic to oblong or obovate, 33–50 mm long rarely longer up to 95 mm, lower surface paler than the upper, sparsely pubescent beneath, becoming hairless with age, margin and midrib densely pubescent when young, midrib channeled above, prominent beneath, lateral veins conspicuous beneath, joining into a submarginal vein. Inflorescences axillary, densely rusty-pubescent, 5–7-flowered, shorter than the leaves; peduncles 1–8 mm; pedicels slender, 6–10 mm, densely covered with spreading, reddish hairs. Flowers sweetly scented, white turning yellow to orange; sepals 2.5–3 mm long, ovate, acute, with adpressed reddish hairs at least on the midrib, margins ciliate. Corolla white, 5–6 mm long, lobed nearly to the base, lobes spreading, oblong, c.4 mm long, hairless except for a tuft of white hairs at the base of each lobe. Corona lobes dorsally flattened and adpressed onto the staminal column, narrowly oblong with a truncate, shallowly toothed apex, slightly dilated at the base. Staminal column c.1.5 mm high. Follicles not seen. |
