Description: |
Shrub or small tree. Bark smooth, pale grey. Leaves alternate, elliptic-oblanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 2-21 cm long, thinly textured to slightly leathery, dark glossy green above, paler and duller green beneath, sparingly hairy on the margin and midrib and lateral veins beneath; margins entire but wavy; petiole 0.5-1 cm. Inflorescences unisexual on different trees; male spikes up to 4.5 cm long, pendulous; flowers creamy-greenish; petals often absent. Female racemes 6-17 cm long, extending to 25 cm in fruit; flowers yellowish, with pedicels 1-3 mm long, extending to 1.5 cm in fruit. Fruit depressed, rounded-3-lobed, 8-11 mm wide, sparingly appressed hairy, grey-green, sometimes pink-tinged. |
