Description: |
Woody climber. Stems often 3-5-angled. Tendrils simple, axillary. Leaves ovate to almost round, up to c. 18 × 12 cm, shiny dark green above, paler below, 3-7-veined from near the base, hairless; apex pointed to rounded; base shallowly cordate, sometimes with 2 hastate lobes; 2 fleshy glands, c. 3 mm wide, are present on the petiole at the base of the lamina. Flowers unisexual, in c. 10-flowered axillary heads, creamy yellow. Fruit a capsule, up to 6 × 3 cm, blackish when dry. |
