Description: |
Robust orchid to 2 m tall with fleshy underground cylindric rhizomes. Leaves 2-4, linear-lanceolate, plicate, erect. Inflorescence lax, with many flowers; peduncle stout, 1-2 cm in diameter. Flowers spreading or ± nodding. Sepals spathulate, obtuse, concave above, erect or reflexed, purple-brown or yellow. Petals parallel to and projecting over the column, broader than the sepals, yellow. Lip 3-lobed, saccate at the base; mid-lobe undulate on the margin; callus of 3 tall crenate ridges, tapering to the apex. Fruit pendent. |
