Creeping herb from a tuberous rootstock; stems striate, pubescent; tendrils absent. Leaves 3-5-foliolate; petiole up to 5(6) cm long, pubescent; leaflet-lamina, up to 16 x 7 cm, narrowly oblong-elliptic to narrowly obovate, apex acute to obtuse, margin serrate or serrate-crenate, base narrowly cuneate, more or less glabrous above, shortly pubescent on the nerves and main veins below; petiolules up to 2 cm long; stipules up to 1.5 cm long, triangular-lanceolate. Cymes terminal on short axillary branches, trichotomous; peduncles up to 14 (20) cm long, pubenscent; pedicels up to 3.5 mm long, pubescent. Flower buds c. 2.8 mm long, oblong-cylindric, more or less deeply constricted in the upper half, very sparsely pubescent or glabrous. Calyx 0.5 mm long, entire, pubescent. Petals yellowish-crimson. Ovary glabrous; style 1.7 mm long, minutely 2-fid at the apex. Fruit c. 7 x 5 mm (immature). Seed 1, c. 5 x 4 mm, with a dorsal and 2 lateral crests, rugose. |
